Making an appointment.
A typical consultation will usually be between 50-60 min. Your initial consultation may be a bit longer and your psychologist or our front desk team will advise you if this is the case.
It is not necessary to have a doctor’s referral to see a psychologist, however gaining a referral can be a good idea for two reasons:
1. Medicare rebates are available for part of the session fee if your GP writes a ‘GP Mental Health Care Plan’.
2. Keeping your GP informed about your psychological needs means they are better placed to meet your needs now and to assist you in the future.
If you receive a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, please bring these along to your first appointment. If eligible we can process your rebate for you at the time of payment.
Fees and Rebates
Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Accepted forms of payment are EFTPoS, cash and most major credit cards.
Medicare currently provides a rebate for psychology services under the better health initiative. This will not cover the whole fee and in most cases can be processed at the time of payment. To find out more on rebates for psychologist please contact you GP or call our office.
The office is suite 8 / 3-9 Terminus St Castle Hill. There is parking behind the building and across the road at Castle Mall.
Please provide at least 2 days notice for appointment cancellations and changes to your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled time may incur a cancellation fee. No Medicare rebates are available for cancelation fees.
